Headline Screenshot Guidelines (for coder or VA)¶
Goal: make op-ed tiles look alive and consistent while keeping the page performant.
1) Capture - Use desktop width 1366–1440px, DPR 2. - Scroll so the masthead, headline, and subhead are all visible; hide cookie banners if possible. - Full-screen browser, no toolbar in the shot.
2) Crop - Crop to 1200×630 (approx 1.9:1) around masthead+headline+dek. - Avoid author-photo or recommended links.
3) Optimize - Export WebP, target ≤ 200 KB (≤ 300 KB if needed). - Filenames: - assets/images/opeds/newsweek-2023-01-31.webp - assets/images/opeds/nypost-woke.webp - assets/images/opeds/nypost-birdflu.webp
4) Accessibility - Use descriptive alt text (include outlet + main headline).
5) Placement - Newsweek tile goes on Media (pre-dismissal). - NY Post tiles go on Context & Background (post-dismissal).
6) Licensing/Fair Use - We display a small cropped image for identification/critical commentary; link the whole card to the source.
