The high COVID death rate in New York City in early 2020 was caused by doctors putting everyone on ventilators.

#medtwitter, you should be ashamed. Your relentless partisanship, defensiveness, and lack of accountability or remorse has turned millions of Americans away from public health and destroyed their trust in doctors and in medicine. Patients will refuse to comply with beneficial evidence-based therapies for decades to come after Covid. The rotten fruits of your arrogance and incompetence will destroy the lives of countless people who you took an oath to serve. You failed the public health and all of our patients with your horrific tribal self-serving dishonest behavior.
Earning trust back means publicly acknowledging and coming to terms with what happened during the pandemic, not with denying it.

How the universal scientific consensus that masks do not prevent respiratory viruses became "misinformation", in just a few short months
In 2019, WHO published a systematic review and meta-analysis on the use of face masks for the prevention of influenza, involving ten high-quality studies with more than 6000 participants.
Its conclusion:
"There was no evidence that face masks are effective in reducing transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza." [1]
In May 2020, CDC conducted its own systematic review and meta-analysis, this time of fourteen high-quality studies.
Its conclusion:
"Although mechanistic studies support the potential effect of hand hygiene or face masks, evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza." [2]
In early 2020, CDC and WHO were discouraging mask-wearing, calling it ineffective.
However, by April through June 2020, advice had reversed and masks became recommended. Here's CNN [3]:
In other words, there was universal scientific consensus pre-April 2020 that masks did not work. But, post-April 2020, what had once been scientific consensus had suddenly become "misinformation".
How does something like that happen?
How does scientific consensus become "misinformation" within just a few months?
This is a gravely serious question that must be answered.

Today on CNN, after devastating study citations from the interviewer showing that masks don't work, Fauci responded: "but masks work on an individual level".
But this is nonsense. Here's why.
To do science on masks, you have a masked group and an unmasked group. You compare the rate of infection in each group. This is called a randomized trial. This is how science is done.
If the rate of infection is the same, then masks don't work. This was what the studies on masks showed. No difference.
Now, there is simply no such thing as scientific studies showing that "masks work at the individual level".
Fauci either doesn't understand how science works or he is lying and making things up.
It really is that simple. Fauci is saying gobbledygook in order to keep the idea of masks alive. It's incredibly shameful for Fauci to abuse science in this way. But it's par for the course in the way he has communicated science throughout the entire pandemic.
Sad.

Having symptomatic stay home would have been best.

Why?
Australia only recommends the COVID19 vaccine for those aged older than 75 years.
This is in contrast to the American recommendations, which recommend the vaccine to everyone.
Why does The Science change depending on what country one is in?
I had 2 Moderna vaccinations and a booster and was hospitalized for acute pericarditis last year. I was afraid for my life.
The medical community minimized vaccine myopericarditis in young men early on. This we now know was a serious mistake.
Back in those days, CDC would have still recommended further boosters for me, despite my pericarditis.
Because I wasn't insane, I didn't get any additional shots. But some companies did mandate additional shots, based on CDC advice, even to men who experienced myopericarditis.
Thankfully this advice has shifted. But this did not happen until after innumerable avoidable vaccine injuries to young men.
These mistakes undermined trust in public health. I now trust public health messaging much less. The vaccines were a godsend for older, at-risk people. The data still show that, even if there is an ever-growing controversy about the effectiveness of boosters, which the public health establishment refuses to test using randomized controlled trial designs.
But the CDC's messaging for young adults continues to lack nuance and undermines trust in public health authorities and harms young people. Nowhere else in the world are the booster recommendations as aggressive--and evidence-free--as they are from the CDC.
I don’t know if my pericarditis was caused by the vaccine, but it is suspicious. I continue to read and learn, and I believe that for older people vaccination might be very important. This despite dissenting views by pro-vaccination figures like Paul Offit, who suggests that even older people should not get boosted.
For me, it’s clear that my COVID vaccinations almost certainly caused more harm than good, and I regret having received them.
I am reading to learn whether in healthy young adult men, any vaccination makes sense.
It is incredibly disappointing to learn that the vaccines that I assured people were safe were not safe, and that I was wrong.
When I was told in comments that the vaccine might have been responsible for my pericarditis, I blocked everyone who suggested it.
I was emotional and closed-minded and wrong.
I should have done better and questioned more and I am sorry.

Why do some places still have mask mandates?
In a 2018 paper, Nobel Prize Winner Drew Weissman warned about the potential risks of mRNA vaccines, including the development of autoimmunity and "blood coagulation and pathological thrombus formation".
Both the Pfizer and Moderna randomized controlled trials showed signals of coagulation disorders--blood clots--resulting from the COVID-19 vaccine.
Why are we not talking about these potential risks of mRNA vaccines more?

Danielle Smith, premier of Alberta, Canada, has issued an apology for the crimes committed by her government during the pandemic.
"For anyone who was inappropriately subjected to discrimination as a result of their vaccine status, I'm deeply sorry."
On July 16th, 2021, President Biden was asked what should be done about COVID misinformation.
He responded:
"The only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated. And they're killing people."
How was it that the truth was called misinformation?
And lies were called truth?
Deborah Birx from her memoir, explaining how "two weeks to flatten the curve" was just marketing for harsh, months-long lockdowns that she was really planning:
"On Monday and Tuesday [March 9th and 10th, 2020]…we worked simultaneously to develop the flatten-the-curve guidance I hoped to present to the vice president at week’s end. Getting buy-in on the simple mitigation measures every American could take was just the first step leading to longer and more aggressive interventions. We had to make these palatable to the administration by avoiding the obvious appearance of a full Italian lockdown. … No sooner had we convinced the Trump administration to implement our version of a two-week shutdown than I was trying to figure out how to extend it. Fifteen Days to Slow the Spread was a start, but I knew it would be just that. I didn’t have the numbers in front of me yet to make the case for extending it longer, but I had two weeks to get them."
Many are saying @elonmusk was wrong to suggest on @joerogan that people died from ventilators early in the pandemic.
However, Fauci himself said the same thing.
This is not "misinformation".
The debate is not whether early ventilation contributed to mortality, but how much.

Scientists at the time admitted that Trump might be right (he was), but media wouldn't report that.

I said that early ventilation in NYC during the pandemic killed many people.
@RyanMarino accused me of spreading conspiracy theories.
@Craig_A_Spencer denied it flatly. His tweet went viral with wild praise.
Countless others said I should never have a career in medicine. Hundreds if not thousands. Many of them, somehow, are actual doctors.
Yet here is Fauci saying the same exact thing as I did.
The ignorance, intolerance, and dogmatism of #medtwitter made the pandemic so much worse. It led to censorship and terrible decision-making. And yes, it was responsible for the deaths of a lot of people.
#medtwitter, you should be ashamed. Your relentless partisanship, defensiveness, and lack of accountability or remorse has turned millions of Americans away from public health and destroyed their trust in doctors and in medicine. Patients will refuse to comply with beneficial evidence-based therapies for decades to come after Covid. The rotten fruits of your arrogance and incompetence will destroy the lives of countless people who you took an oath to serve. You failed the public health and all of our patients with your horrific tribal self-serving dishonest behavior.
Earning trust back means publicly acknowledging and coming to terms with what happened during the pandemic, not with denying it.
How the universal scientific consensus that masks do not prevent respiratory viruses became "misinformation", in just a few short months
In 2019, WHO published a systematic review and meta-analysis on the use of face masks for the prevention of influenza, involving ten high-quality studies with more than 6000 participants.
Its conclusion:
"There was no evidence that face masks are effective in reducing transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza." [1]
In May 2020, CDC conducted its own systematic review and meta-analysis, this time of fourteen high-quality studies.
Its conclusion:
"Although mechanistic studies support the potential effect of hand hygiene or face masks, evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza." [2]
In early 2020, CDC and WHO were discouraging mask-wearing, calling it ineffective.
However, by April through June 2020, advice had reversed and masks became recommended. Here's CNN [3]:
In other words, there was universal scientific consensus pre-April 2020 that masks did not work. But, post-April 2020, what had once been scientific consensus had suddenly become "misinformation".
How does something like that happen?
How does scientific consensus become "misinformation" within just a few months?
This is a gravely serious question that must be answered.
